Kyrgyzstan receives about $ 1 billion in emergency money

Many people have died with the open violence in Kyrgyzstan which has created about 400,000 refugees and destroyed the budget the nation has kept. The violence has been caused between troops and civilians because of the nation's move toward parliamentary democracy, which overthrew President Kurmanbek Bakiyev and militants from Uzbekistan. Kyrgyzstan has been trying to recuperate now that the fighting is stopping. And as current reports from Reuters and other international media sources indicate, instant cash is on the way.

Kyrgyzstan receives $ 1.1. billion from national donations

$ 600 million can be given as instant money in 2010 while the rest comes in 2011, which all comes from donors in a conference in Kyrgyzstan's capital city, Bishkek. President Roza Otunbayeva wanted those from the World Bank and United Nations to donate and said they'd rebuild. The violence and problems caused the nation to shrink 5 percent making this the perfect time for a financial windfall. Kyrgyzstan was in need of extra cash, and also the donors have pledged to deliver.

More than $ 1 billion needed to repair buildings and infrastructure

Reuters reports that 13.5 percent of domestic product has been lost in Kyrgyzstan's budget. Their deficit went from $ 269 million to $ 619 million when Bakiyev was overthrown, according to Kyrgyzstan's Finance Minister Chorobek Imashev. $ 350 million, reports President Otunbayeva, is needed to build settlements in Osh and Jalalabad, when another $ 100 million can be needed for the rest of the economy. Fixing energy costs $ 180 million and fixing agriculture can be $ 50 million. In total, when no amount of money can replace lost or displaced lives, $ 1.1 billion in emergency money for Kyrgyzstan will go a long way toward stabilizing a nation in chaos.
